The third #WeAreAllWomen Twitter chat was on December 2, 2014. The topic was “HIV: Treatment, Prevention, and Fighting Stigma.” We had international participants and a very diverse group. There were women living with HIV, women who work in the HIV field, advocates women of color, neurodiversity, and of course TLBAS (Trans, Lesbian, Bisexual, Asexual, and Straight).
Fighting stigma was a huge part of this chat, everyone weighed in with suggestions and stories of great advocacy work. Stigma is one of the biggest barriers to ending HIV. “Use what you have. Do what you can” was a major idea offered.
Also discussed were prevention strategies and treatment options. PrEP, TasP, and the possibility for more women-controlled options for prevention were discussed.
